ABOUT
The Privacy Training will upskill you on understanding how privacy legislation overlays the obligations you have to protect the personal information of your research subjects. Understanding the data environment in which you collect, use, and disclose personal information will help you better fulfill the obligations of confidentiality and security as well as additional privacy issues, such as which data qualifies as “Sensitive” under legislation and requires extra protections. We will share templates for appropriate data collection notices, collecting consent, and help researchers understand the nuances of what qualifies as “deidentified” data when deciding whether the privacy protections apply to their data. We will also discuss the lifecycle of your data and the importance of storing it in the correct locations.
