ABOUT

Action research, also called practitioner inquiry, is a method of investigating our own professional practise through a cyclical and reflective research process. It applies to a range of fields: education, healthcare and nursing, social work, business administration, counselling, social sciences, operational management and others.

Rather than starting with theory, action research starts with issues that emerge from professional practise and identifies ways to understand and resolve these issues. It produces practical knowledge aimed at solving concrete problems.

This workshop will show you how to identify workplace issues and transform these into meaningful research questions. You will learn to design and carry out a small-scale action research project using common data-collection methods and apply its findings to a professional environment. In your field, you can become a reflective, evidence-informed practitioner capable of using research to enhance your practise.
